Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway opens, southern Sichuan enters the era of high speed railway

On December 16, surging journalists learned from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. that the Yibin Guiyang section of Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway opened on December 16, marking the opening of the whole Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway.

Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway starts from Chengdu, Sichuan Province, passes Meishan, Leshan and Yibin, Weixin county and Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, and ends in Guiyang city. The total length of the line is 648 kilometers, and the design speed is 250 kilometers per hour. The opening of Chengdu Guiyang high-speed railway ended the era of no high-speed railway in southern Sichuan, integrating southern Sichuan into the national high-speed railway network, connecting Xicheng passenger dedicated line in the north, Guiyang Guangzhou Passenger Dedicated Line in the South and Shanghai Kunming passenger dedicated line in the East. It will bring qualitative changes to the development of local tourism, culture and economy to realize the "6-8-hour traffic circle" of Yibin, Leshan and other Sichuan cities integrated into Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing and other major domestic cities.

Chengdu Guiyang high speed railway runs through the whole line. The train breaks through the mountain, breaks through the fog and the wind, breaks the Millennium transportation dilemma of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou in the special and difficult areas of Wumeng Mountain. It will further integrate the regional tourism resources, accelerate the economic and social development along the line, which is of great significance to the poverty alleviation and economic development of the special and difficult areas of Wumeng Mountain. At the same time, as one of the 50 national railway hub cities, Yibin is also the only prefecture level railway hub city in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou. The opening of this line will greatly increase the radiation and driving role of Yibin and even the whole southern Sichuan region to Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces and cities, and lead the development of this region.
