The Qian-Zhang-Chang Railway leads eastward from Qianjiang Station of Chongqing-Huaihua Railway and passes through Qianjiang District of Chongqing City, Xianfeng County and Laifeng County of Enshi Prefecture of Hubei Province, Longshan County of Xiangxi Prefecture of Hunan Province, Sangzhi County of Zhangjiajie City and Yongding District. It connects with Jiao-Liu Railway in Zhangjiajie City, and goes eastward to Taoyuan County of Changde City of Hunan Province.

The design standard of Guizhou-Zhangzhou-Changzhou Railway is grade I double-track passenger-cargo co-line, with transport capacity of 30 million tons per year and 29 million passenger trips per year. The main line of the railway is 336.257 kilometers in length, with a total of 15 stations. Among them, there are 9 passenger stations, including Qianjiang Station, Changde Station, 2 existing stations and Xianfeng Station, Laifeng Station, Longshan North Station, Sangzhi Station, Zhangjiajie West Station, Niuchehe Station and Taoyuan Station.

The new stations along the Guizhou-Zhangzhou-Changzhou Railway are designed to integrate the cultural characteristics of the ethnic minorities along the railway with their own characteristics in accordance with the concept of "one station, one scene".
