Trial operation of the first lithium battery refrigerated container in China in Shanghai

On May 30, a freight train carrying the country's first lithium battery driven refrigerated container left Shanghai Yangpu station. In four days, 25 tons of imported frozen meat in the container will arrive in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

The 45 foot reefer container is the first reefer container with large capacity lithium battery as power system in China. As a power source, lithium battery has been widely used in new energy vehicles and other aspects, with the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, economy and so on. The refrigerated container is equipped with a high-power pure electric frequency conversion refrigeration unit, which has the advantages of fast refrigeration speed, low power consumption and good heat preservation performance. At the same time, the information technology is used in the lithium battery refrigerated container to implement remote monitoring of the whole transportation process, which improves the transportation reliability.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd., each box of the new type of lithium battery driven refrigerated container can be powered independently, breaking the restriction that the traditional refrigerated container relies on the power supply of the generator car, and can be flexibly grouped, reducing the operation link of wire arrangement and power connection during the loading and unloading process, and improving the transportation efficiency. Compared with other cold chain transportation modes, lithium battery refrigerated containers have the advantages of electronic temperature control and all-weather transportation, which can effectively improve the market competitiveness of products. In the future, the group company will gradually realize large-scale and shift operation of lithium battery refrigerated containers.
