After the construction of Yunnan section of Chongqing Kunming high speed railway, it only takes two hours for Kunming to Chongqing
At 10 a.m. on December 20, the construction of Yunnan section of Chongqing Kunming high speed railway was officially started. After completion, the travel time from Kunming to Chongqing and Chengdu will be reduced from 5 to 6 hours to 2 hours. The
Chongqing Kunming High Speed Railway climbed from Sichuan basin to Yunnan Guizhou Plateau, with huge topographic relief and complex geological structure. Because of the special geological conditions such as the Wumeng Mountain range, the construction area has climbed from 450 meters above sea level to 2870 meters. Therefore, there are 107 bridges and 53 tunnels to be built in Yunnan section with a total length of only 388.6 km, and the bridge tunnel ratio is 87.4%. The
Chongqing Kunming high speed railway is an important project of the national medium and long term and 13th five year plan railway network planning, and also a national key project of "one hundred traffic poverty alleviation projects". It is led from Chongqing West Railway Station, and passes through Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces and cities, with a total length of 699 kilometers and a set time speed of 350 kilometers. Among them, Yunnan section passes Zhaotong City and Qujing City and ends at Kunming south station, with 11 stations in total. After connecting with the national road network, Yunnan will be connected with the backbone channels in northwest, North China and other places, which can directly reach Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, forming another fast railway channel from Beijing to Kunming. The construction period of Chongqing Kunming high speed railway is expected to be 6 years. (CCTV reporter Liu Wenjie)
