On November 26, Shandong No.5 Institute of Geology and mineral exploration received the feedback from China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd., which undertook the first bid section of Weifang Xinyi railway preliminary survey and exploration project. Shandong No.5 Institute of Geology and mineral resources will give full play to its professional and technical advantages, set up a railway survey project department, organize competent forces to invest in the preliminary survey and survey of the line, and assist in the construction of key national railways.

it is understood that Weifang Xinyi railway is an integral part of the second line of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway and the second longitudinal in the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high speed railway main channel of the national "medium and long term railway network planning". The planned route is through Beijing, Tianjin, Huanghua, Binzhou, Dongying, Weifang, Linyi, Xinyi, Suqian, Huai'an, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Nantong and Shanghai. The implementation of the project will better connect the urban agglomerations in North China, East China, Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Shandong Peninsula, Yangtze River Delta, etc., which will help to improve the efficient and convenient railway network covering a wide range of areas, promote resource development and production capacity operation in different areas, so as to better serve the local economic and social development.
