The news is so exhilarating that everyone is celebrating and spreading it to the rest of the world! Meishan railway opened on October 11, and passengers can use their mobile phones to enter the station!

2019-10-11| Pandatrips | News

On October 11, the Meizhou-Shantou Railway will be officially opened. Meizhou, the world's passenger capital, will end the history of no high-speed rail. There will be 44 EMU trains running from Meizhou to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shantou, Zhuhai, Yichang and Xiamen every day. The fastest time for Meizhou to Guangzhou and Shenzhen is only 3 hours 25 minutes and 2 hours 52 minutes. In the initial period of operation, Meizhou-Shantou Railway operated 44 EMU trains daily, including 12 from Meizhou to Guangzhou, 10 from Shenzhen, 8 from Chaoshan Station, 8 from Shantou and 2 from Zhuhai, Xiamen and Yichang.

Meizhou Shantou railway

The main line of Meishan Railway is 122.4 kilometers in length, with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Meizhou West Station, Meizhou City, Meizhou City, Meizhou City, Jieyang City and Chaozhou City are connected with Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway at Chaoshan Station, Chaozhou City. Seven stations are set up on the whole line, namely, Meizhou West, She Jiangbei, Jianqiao, Fengshundong, Jieyang, Jieyang Airport and Chaoshan Station.

It is understood that Meishan Railway is the third pilot electronic passenger ticket line in Guangdong Province after Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway and Jiangzhan Railway. Seven stations along Meizhou West, She Jiangbei, Jianqiao, Fengshundong, Jieyang, Jieyang Airport and Chaoshan are all pilot stations for the implementation of electronic passenger tickets.

On the first day of operation of Meishan Railway, the E-Ticket System will be put into use synchronously. Passengers in the above seven pilot stations will no longer need to exchange paper tickets after purchasing tickets through 12306 website or mobile APP. They can enter the station directly by "brushing mobile phones" or "brushing identity cards". It will be more convenient and fast for passengers to purchase tickets and enter the station.

In the initial period of operation, the train passing through Meishan Railway will be offered five discount fares, namely, 6 discount, 7.5 discount, 8.5 discount and 9 discount, according to different operation intervals, operation time and stopping conditions.

In the next stage, railway departments will also implement market-based dynamic fare adjustment with different discounts according to passenger flow, time and other factors.

Meizhou is one of the key overseas Chinese townships in China. Over 7 million overseas Chinese live abroad. It is also one of the important ancestral places of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots.

The opening of the Meishan-Shantou Railway marks that the northeastern part of Guangdong has access to the national high-speed rail network. The areas along the railway will be more convenient to integrate into the economic life circle of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District, which is a great benefit to the local economic and social development.
