P2 Laboratory of Wuhan Institute of disease control carries out nucleic acid detection of new coronavirus

Recently, Wuhan Institute of disease control and prevention of China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. officially has the ability to detect the nucleic acid of new coronavirus after the evaluation and acceptance of Wuhan Health Committee. On April 20, P2 Laboratory of Wuhan Institute of disease control started the detection of new coronavirus nucleic acid. The first 800 samples came from Wuhan High Speed Railway Training Section, Wuhan Railway Health Supervision Institute, Wuhan East Train Depot and other units.

In February, Wuhan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. launched P2 laboratory construction project to meet the health needs of railway employees to the maximum extent and ensure that suspected cases can be quickly diagnosed and sent to hospital. As the main unit of project implementation, Wuhan Institute of disease control, centering on the goal of "rapid completion, rapid acceptance and rapid application" of P2 laboratory, conducts emergency procurement, qualification review, contract signing, construction procedures, overall acceptance and personnel training in accordance with laws and regulations, taking into account the construction progress and project quality.

During the construction of the laboratory project, the Wuhan Institute of disease control and prevention shall convene the construction personnel in strict accordance with the requirements of local epidemic control to ensure that the construction period is advanced on time. They focused on strengthening the construction of laboratory qualification and training of testing technicians, sent 7 technical backbones to Wuhan Center for Disease Control and prevention for training of new coronavirus nucleic acid testing technology, formulated the operation instructions for nucleic acid testing procedures, and ensured that P2 laboratory could carry out work rapidly after qualification verification.
