Guangxi Tieshan port special railway line opens to Beibu Bay important port area to realize full coverage of railway entering port
At 10:30 on April 16, train 0416, loaded with 2100 tons of coal, started from Tieshan port railway in Beihai, Guangxi, and headed for Yulin, marking the opening of the special line for Tieshan port railway in port and the new progress in infrastructure construction of the new land sea channel in the West. So far, the important port area of Beibu Gulf has realized the full coverage of railway access to the port, providing Guangxi with a seamless rail sea intermodal transport channel to the sea economy.
The special railway line project of Tieshangang port is an important measure to serve the construction of "one belt and one road" and deeply participate in the construction of new land sea channel in the West.
The special line project of Tieshan port inbound railway connects the public wharf of Tieshan port and Yulin Tieshan port railway. The construction started in June 2018, including 1 3.6km double line, 3 1.4km loading and unloading lines and 7 station arrival departure lines. The designed annual freight volume is 14 million tons in the near term and 20 million tons in the long term.
The direct economic hinterland of the North seaport is the southwest, Central South and South China regions such as Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing and Hunan. It has trade relations with 218 ports in 98 countries and regions in the world. Before that, there was no railway in Tieshangang District of Beihai port. After the goods got off the ship, most of them were transported to the enterprises in the industrial zone near the port by car, and a small part were transported to Tieshangang station by car and transported to all places by yutie railway. In 2019, Tieshangang station only sent 338000 tons of goods.
After the completion and opening of the special railway line for Tieshangang port, the nickel ores from Indonesia and the Philippines can be taken off the ship and the coal from Australia can be connected to the yutie railway through the special railway line, and then transported to the middle and southwest regions of China through Nanning Kunming, Hunan Guangxi, Guizhou Guangxi and other railways. The sugar and paper products from the south central and southeast regions of China can also be sent to Tieshangang, Southeast Asia, Japan and other countries, Realize rapid exchange of materials at home and abroad, and promote the organic connection of the belt and road initiative.
After the special line is put into use, it is expected to bring 2.5 million tons of freight increment to the railway in 2020, and the railway freight transportation will increase from 1 train per day to 3 trains.
