Guangzhou Metro Line 8 is the eighth line completed and operated by Guangzhou Metro. On September 25, 2010, the first phase of operation (from Changgang station to Wanshengwei station) was split and opened. On November 3, 2010, the West Extension Project (from Fenghuang new village station to Changgang station) was opened and opened. On December 28, 2019, the extension project (from Fenghuang new village station to Cultural Park Station) was opened and opened. The sign color is blue-green.

Guangzhou Metro Line 8 starts from the Cultural Park Station, passes through Liwan District and Haizhu District, runs through Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center and along Xingang Road, and ends at Wanshengwei station, with a "L-shaped" East-West trend.
