In terms of increasing traffic volume, passenger and freight volume has increased significantly year on year. As of December 30, 2019, the national railway has sent 3561.397 million passengers and 3416.254 million tons of goods in 2019. Among them, the maximum number of passengers per day is 17.13 million, and the number of vehicles loaded per day for the first time has exceeded the 170000.

Targeted poverty alleviation

Since 2019, the railway has invested 150 million yuan in poverty alleviation areas. Luanchuan County, Henan Province, which is designated by the central government for poverty alleviation, has officially lifted its hat; Yuanzhou District, Guyuan City, Ningxia Province, Mianxian County, Shaanxi Province, Hetian County, Xinjiang Province and eight other provincial designated poverty alleviation villages will lift their hat as planned.
In the remote, poor and backward areas, the railway has been persisting in running "slow trains" for a long time, leaving a happy road for the local people. 81 pairs of public welfare "slow trains" have covered 21 provinces, districts and cities in China, with 530 stops and 35 minority areas.
In order to help the poor areas get rid of poverty and become rich as soon as possible, the railway department has also accelerated the pace of railway construction in the western region and the poor areas. Since last year, more than 360 billion yuan of railway infrastructure investment has been completed in 14 concentrated and contiguous areas in China, accounting for 75.7% of the total investment in railway infrastructure; 16 railway projects of 100 transportation poverty alleviation backbone channel projects have been opened, and 14 projects have been started.
It is particularly worth mentioning that during the sixth national poverty alleviation day in 2019, the railway opened e-commerce poverty alleviation mall on 12306 platform, realizing the extension of railway consumption poverty alleviation from offline to online.
