The opening and operation of Yinchuan Zhongwei south section of Yinlan high speed railway will bring Wuzhong, Yinchuan, Lingwu, Zhongwei and other cities along the Yellow River economic belt into the "one hour economic circle", which will play an important and positive role in improving Ningxia's location advantage in the "belt and road" construction, promoting regional tourism, building a golden channel connecting Ningxia's internal and external links and reaching the sea, and helping Ningxia to overcome poverty Ring. At the same time, with the opening and operation of this high-speed railway, four stations, including Yinchuan Station, Hedong airport station, Lingwu north station and Wuzhong station, have set up "air rail service island" to simultaneously open a new mode of air rail intermodal transport.

Yinchuan Zhongwei south section of Yinlan high speed railway is an important part of Beijing Baotou Yinlan channel, the main channel of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high speed railway in China, and it is also an important channel connecting the Yellow River Economic Belt of Ningxia. This high-speed railway mainly includes the new Yinchuan Wuzhong section of Yinxi high-speed railway and the new Wuzhong Zhongwei railway. The total length of the line is 207 kilometers, with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. There are seven stations in the whole line, including Yinchuan, Hedong airport, lingwubei, Wuzhong, Hongsibao north, zhongningdong and Zhongwei south.

According to the relevant personnel of the passenger transport department of China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd., after the Yinchuan Zhongwei south section of Yinlan high speed railway is put into operation, 10 pairs of short-term intercity multiple units will be opened, including 4 pairs of Yinchuan Zhongwei south, 4 pairs of Yinchuan Wuzhong and 2 pairs of Wuzhong Zhongwei south. It takes about 3 hours to take the k1295 ordinary speed train from Yinchuan to Zhongwei. After the high-speed railway is opened, the EMU can arrive in about one and a half hours.

Ningxia is a tourist attraction with diverse landform and rich tourism resources. There are mountains, Yellow River, sand sea, Gobi, grassland, forest, lake, wetland and other natural landscapes in 66400 square kilometers of land, which are favored by the mother of the Yellow River. Since ancient times, it has been said that "the world's Yellow River is Funing in summer". Ningxia is also famous for its wolfberry, rice, mutton, selenium sand melon, wine and other specialties. It is known as China's top ten "new Tianfu" and a veritable "town of fish and rice". The opening and operation of this high-speed railway will greatly facilitate the travel of the people along the line, promote the development of tourism resources, and help the economic and social development along the line, and speed up the pace of poverty alleviation in Xihaigu area.
