Beijing Zhangjiakou high speed railway opens today
On December 30, the Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed railway was put into operation, and three railways from Zhangjiakou to Hohhot, Zhangjiakou to Datong and Chongli were put into operation simultaneously, providing traffic guarantee for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and helping the integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed railway is an important part of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network from Beijing to Lanzhou in the medium and long term railway network planning of China. The line is connected with Zhangjiakou Huzhou high speed railway and Zhangjiakou Dalian high-speed railway in the West and Beijing hub in the East, forming a fast passenger transport channel to Beijing in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and northern Hebei. The total length of Beijing Zhangjiakou high speed railway is 174 kilometers, with the maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are 10 stations along the line. The fastest railway from Beijing to Zhangjiakou has been compressed to 47 minutes from 3 hours and 7 minutes in the past, to 2 hours and 9 minutes in Hohhot from 9 hours and 15 minutes in the past, and to 1 hour and 42 minutes in Datong.
