Expanding the coverage of high-speed railway and strengthening the reconstruction of old railway

2019-12-28| Pandatrips | News

Recently, another good news came from the northeast. China Railway Design Group and the websites of local governments along the line publicized the second information announcement on environmental impact assessment of new Shenyang Baihe high speed railway. The announcement shows that the feasibility study of the new Shenyang Baihe high speed railway project is expected to be approved within the year, and the whole line will be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2024. The

railway is the main artery and key infrastructure of the national economy. Since the reform and opening up, the transportation industry in Northeast China has undergone historic changes, and the transportation infrastructure situation has improved significantly. As the backbone of transportation, the railway has made significant progress and changes. The density and length of the existing railway network are at the leading level in China. However, some of the lines have been built for a long time, the technical equipment is relatively poor, the railway base is large, and the degree of electrification still lags behind the national average level, and other problems still exist for a long time. There are still about 3500 kilometers of old railways in the east of Liaoning and Jilin Province, accounting for more than one third of the length of the general highway network. Among them, at present, the proportion of old rail sleepers is large, there are many shallow foundation bridges and diseased bridges, tunnel diseases are serious, transport safety risks are large, and there are still a large number of equipment to be eliminated. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were 2014 old bridges, some of which were first built in 1895 and have been in operation for 124 years. In addition, the electrification rate and double track rate of railway in Northeast China are lower than the national average level, and the proportion of internal combustion and non electrification is still large. As the high-speed railway has gradually become the first choice for people to travel, it has become a top priority to gradually improve the high-speed railway channel, and it is more necessary to make great efforts to promote the upgrading and reconstruction of the old railway and the reinforcement of the short board project of the road network infrastructure. The state should effectively strengthen the support for the expansion and transformation of old railways, improve the quality of the overall road network, implement the expansion and upgrading of some sections as soon as possible, actively promote the electrification transformation, comprehensively improve the railway transportation capacity, so that China's high-speed rail will always be in the forefront of the world!
