Good news from the high-speed railway connecting Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia!

2019-11-21| Pandatrips | News

On November 16, the construction of Yinxi high speed railway, an important component of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high speed railway, made an important breakthrough. On the morning of that day, with the completion of the last pile foundation grouting, the key control project of Yinxi high speed railway, Weihe super bridge, began to be constructed on the ground, laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of Yinxi high speed railway in 2020.

The length of Xianyang Weihe super large bridge of Yinxi high speed railway is 13.6km, of which 4.16km is the four line bridge shared by Yinxi high speed railway and Guanzhong intercity railway. There are 4370 pile foundations in the whole bridge, with a maximum depth of 90 meters, equivalent to 30 floors. In addition to the largest tributary of the Yellow River, Weihe River, the bridge also spans 5 highways and 2 railways. The structure of the bridge is complex, the construction volume is huge, and the safety risk is very high.

In the face of heavy construction tasks and many difficulties, all participating units have carefully organized, scientifically managed, and invested their best efforts and advanced equipment to ensure the construction safety, quality and progress goals, and 80% of the work has been completed. According to the introduction of technicians from Yinxi high speed railway project Department of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., the site is stepping up the installation of thermal insulation facilities for winter construction, which is about to set off a boom in ground construction, and the builders are ready to stick to the site during the Spring Festival.

The Yinxi high speed railway connects Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia. The line is led from the North Station of Xi'an to the northwest and enters Gansu Province after passing Xianyang International Airport, Liquan, Qianxian County, Yongshou and Binzhou of Xi'an. It extends to the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from Wuzhong City to Yinchuan city after crossing the yellow river. The total length of Yinxi high speed railway is about 617km, including 163.4km of Shaanxi section. There are 25 bridges on the main line. It is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2020.

After the completion of Yinxi high-speed railway, the history of no high-speed railway in Ningxia will be ended, and a convenient channel will be formed between Guanzhong City group centered on Xi'an and the city belt along the Yellow River centered on Yinchuan. The one-way operation time of Xi'an Yinchuan train will be shortened from the current 14 hours to about 3 hours, which is of great significance for revitalizing the old revolutionary base area of Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia, improving the layout of regional high-speed railway network, helping to win the battle against poverty and promoting the economic and social development along the line.
