The South inter city railway along the Yangtze River passes through one of the areas with the most intensive cities, the highest degree of urban-rural integration and the best foundation of economic and social development in our province and the Yangtze River Delta, and it is also the third high-speed railway between Shanghai and Nanjing. The line adopts the technical standard of double track high-speed railway, and the designed running speed is 350 km / h. It starts from Nanjing South Railway Station, passes through Jiangning District, Zhenjiang Jurong City, Jintan District, Wujin District and economic development zone of Changzhou, Jiangyin City of Wuxi, Zhangjiagang City of Suzhou, Changshu and Taicang, and ends at Taicang station of Shanghai Nantong railway under construction. The length of the new main line is 278.53 km. There are 8 stations in the whole line, including Nanjing South Jurong Jintan Wujin Jiangyin Zhangjiagang Changshu Taicang, and they are connected to Shanghai through Shanghai to Shanghai Railway phase I in Taicang. The total construction period of the project is 4 years. It is planned to operate 100 pairs of passenger cars per day in the short term and 130 pairs of passenger cars per day in the long term, with a minimum running interval of 3 minutes. Along the line, Jurong, Jintan, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Taicang and other places will enter the era of high-speed rail at one stroke, integrating into the Shanghai Nanjing one hour high-speed rail circle.
