It takes only 100 minutes for Datong High-speed Railway to get to Beijing by the end of this year.
After nearly four years of hard work, the construction of Datong Zhangjiakou high-speed railway project has come to an end. Up to July 25, this year, a total investment of 11.125 billion yuan has been completed. Static acceptance will start soon, and the whole line will be opened to traffic by the end of this year. At that time, it will only take 40 minutes from Datong to Zhangjiakou and 100 minutes from Datong to Beijing. After the completion and opening of Dazhang High-speed Railway, it will also play a very important role in promoting the development of cultural tourism in Datong while facilitating the trips of citizens in the three places. The role of integrated transport hub will be highlighted
Dazhang High-speed Railway Line is located in the north of North China. It connects with Zhangjiakou, the "North Gate" of Kyoto in the East and Datong, the "Coal Capital" in the north of Shanxi Province in the west. It connects northern Shanxi and Northern Hebei in the east-west direction and directly communicates with Datong and Zhangjiakou. Datong is one of the 42 transportation hub cities and 66 logistics cities with commercial and trade nodes in the country, and is also the carrier city of the land-port-type national logistics hub. The eastern end of Dazhang High-speed Railway Line connects Beijing-Zhang Railway and Huzhang Railway, and the western end connects the newly-built North Tongpu Fourth Line, and then connects Datong to Xi'an Passenger Dedicated Line. It will serve as the main channel for passenger exchange in northern Shanxi, as well as the main artery for passenger exchange between Western Mongolia, northern Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi and other southwestern regions, thus forming the fast development in Express Passenger Transport Network.
Datong-Zhangjiakou Railway is an important part of Beijing-Baotou Railway Passage. Beijing-Baotou Corridor is the main channel of external communication in northern Shanxi Province, which runs across the East and west of China, links Mongolia, West Shanxi and North China, and further leads to the northwest and southwest provinces and regions. The construction of Dazhang High-speed Railway Project is of great significance for promoting the export-oriented economic development in northern Shanxi and further promoting the coordinated economic development of Shanxi Province; at the same time, it can strengthen the links between Mengxi and Shanxi, Shaanxi and Southwest China, and create a good external environment for the economic cooperation in a broader field in Mengxi; the opening of Dazhang High-speed Railway Tong can also realize fast passenger transport from Beijing to Zhangjiakou to Datong to Xi'an, and further close the links between North China, Northeast and West China. North Shanxi has rich tourism resources and unique charm, and the opening of Dazhang High-speed Railway plays an important role in promoting the development of tourism economy in North Shanxi.
Datong-Zhangjiakou Railway links up many trunk and branch railways in Datong hub and Zhangjiakou area, and the road network plays an important role. The construction of Dazhang High-speed Railway will effectively link up Beijing-Zhang Railway, Huzhang Railway and Daxi Passenger Dedicated Railway, construct the railway rapid passenger transport network in the northern part of North China, form the fast passenger transport corridor between North Shanxi and Beijing, Hebei, and the fast passenger transport corridor between Mengxi, Shanxi, Shaanxi and other southwest areas, so as to improve the passenger transport corridor in the northern part of North China. It is of great significance to expand the coverage of the rapid passenger transport network. As a supplement to the national fast railway network, the project directly connects the Beijing-Zhangzhou Railway and the West Passenger Dedicated Line and becomes a major humanistic artery connecting the East and the West, forming another fast passenger transport channel for passenger exchanges between North China, Northeast China and West China after Beijing-Guangzhou-Longhai. It is of great significance to optimize the layout of railway network and increase the mobility and flexibility of passenger transport.
