Chongqing-Huaihua Railway Connects Chongqing with the "Artery" in the Middle East
As one of the ten major projects of the western development, the construction and opening of the Yuhuai Railway has opened up the "artery" connecting Chongqing and even the western region to the central and eastern part of China. Since its opening, it has promoted the economic development of more than 70 cities and towns along the line, benefiting more than 13 million people.
In 2000, the Chongqing-Huaihua Railway broke ground after ten years'preparation for demonstration. With a total investment of 198 billion yuan, it spanned Chongqing, Guizhou and Hunan provinces with a total length of 624 kilometers. It was one of the ten major projects of the national strategy for the development of the western region. It was the first in China in many aspects, such as construction difficulty and construction technology.
In 2006, with the slow start of the train from Chongqing North Railway Station to Huaihua, the large railway corridor from west to East was declared open to traffic. Chongqing's commodity logistics has embarked on the "fast lane".
After the opening of the Chongqing-Huaihua Railway, Chongqing formally joined the high-speed railway network in the central and eastern part of the country. Through the role of Huaihua Railway hub, it can communicate with the inter-provincial economic zone of Beibu Gulf of Guangxi to the south, reach Gansu and Xinjiang in series through the Longhai Railway to the north, and connect Wuhan to the east, holding hands with East China. The compression of space distance brings new opportunities for the development of enterprises.
According to statistics, the opening of the Yuhuai Railway has benefited more than 13 million people in more than 70 cities and towns along the line, and has brought economic development benefits along the line to 206 billion yuan. At present, the Chongqing-Huaihua Railway Complex Line Project is under intensive construction all over the line, which will once again open a new wealth door for the southeastern region of Chongqing.
