Strong momentum of rail sea intermodal transport through new land sea channel in Western China
In recent years, with the country and relevant provinces and cities continue to strengthen the construction of new land and sea channels in the west, more and more goods are transferred in Beibu Gulf port, and the scale of rail sea intermodal trains is expanding. Although novel coronavirus pneumonia affected the first half of this year, the new line of West China Sea still opened 1691 trains, which increased by 66.3% compared with the same period last year. The volume of rail and sea combined transport volume was 84 thousand and 800 standard boxes, an increase of 68% over the same period last year, and the development momentum was strong.
Located in the west of China, the new land sea corridor in the west of China starts from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south, passes through Guizhou Province, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, Gansu Province and Qinghai Province, and reaches Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the north. It is a comprehensive logistics channel with multimodal transport as the core. With the increasing economic and trade scale between China and ASEAN countries, rail sea intermodal transport line is gradually becoming the main transport route of the new land sea channel in Western China.
With the expansion of the brand effect of the new land sea channel in Western China, the cargo agglomeration effect of Guangxi Beibu Gulf port appears. In the first half of this year, the Beibu Gulf port completed a cargo throughput of 139.57 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%; the container throughput of 2.13 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 33.7%; both cargo throughput and container throughput growth ranked first in China's coastal ports.
In order to meet the needs of economic and social development and promote the construction of new land and sea passage in Western China with high quality, under the guidance of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., relevant railway bureaus and groups along the line focus on improving the railway on-line transportation capacity and on-point loading and unloading support capacity within the jurisdiction; build railway logistics bases or logistics parks in line with the development trend of rail sea intermodal transportation, so as to improve the land and sea new channel in Western China The rail sea intermodal transport capacity of the channel is guaranteed.
In addition, the relevant railway bureaus and groups along the line have continued to reduce fees, improve efficiency, optimize services, and adjust the freight rates of freight categories, so as to realize the "buy it now" price of trains covering the major provinces in central and Western China. They have taken measures such as allocating high-power locomotives, reducing the travel time of trains, speeding up the loading and unloading at the port, etc., to improve the operation efficiency of rail sea intermodal transportation, and jointly provide diversified services including one-stop booking, in transit information inquiry and comprehensive customs declaration, so as to create a high-quality brand of rail sea intermodal trains with modern logistics characteristics.
