Recently, heavy rainfall occurred in Western Hunan, Chongqing and other areas. Tan Xiaowei's Yuhuai freight team is mainly in Chongqing Huaihua line. This line is located in the mountainous area, with bridges and tunnels connecting bridges. The terrain is crisscross, and the line is winding. In case of rainfall and rainstorm, the driver will not only stay on duty for a long time in the section of the line, but also face the risks of flood, rolling stones and landslides.

On June 30, Tan Xiaowei was on duty on the 24401 freight train, which was running 415km and 199 meters between Longchi station and Xiushan station. Just after the locomotive passed the curve, it was found that there was water gushing out of the Zhangba tunnel entrance. He immediately took emergency braking measures to stop, and the locomotive finally stopped in the tunnel. As he was in the communication blind area, he could not get in touch with the station for a moment. He immediately decided to hold a small radio station to check at the rear of the train, and went out of the tunnel as quickly as possible to report the situation to the station.

After getting off the bus with a flashlight, Tan Xiaowei found that there was water in the tunnel. He had no time to think about it, so he waded into the water and walked quickly towards the tunnel entrance step by step. There was more and more water in the tunnel, so he could not see the road under his feet. He had to work hard every step. At the same time, he had to check the condition of trains, lines and tunnels all the way to prevent other accidents. After wading for more than 400 meters, Tan Xiaowei arrived at the tunnel entrance and immediately reported the line, tunnel and train conditions to the station.

Subsequently, public works personnel arrived at the scene. After repeated inspection, they confirmed that the track bed and line were not greatly affected, and only speed limit operation was required. After receiving the driving order, Tan Xiaowei manipulated the train to pass through the section safely at a speed of 15 km / h.

Looking at Tan Xiaowei, whose whole body is wet, Chen Jianbo, the guidance driver of Tiancheng, gives him a thumbs up and praises him repeatedly. Tan Xiaowei quickly responded: "I am a party member, should have rushed in front of me in case of trouble."
