48 km round trip in rainstorm
On July 8, a rainstorm hit Jiujing Quzhou railway.
At 12:06, a rush of cell phone ringing made Luo Songbai, a member of the Communist Party who gave up his rotation and stuck in the work area, and the monitor of Wuyuan comprehensive work area of Yingtan Public Works section was worried. He quickly turned on his mobile phone. It turned out to be the rainfall information sent by the section dispatcher: "the rainfall between Wuyuan and Jingdezhen is close to the warning value. Please be prepared for patrol inspection."
Luo Songbai immediately informed the staff on standby for flood control in the work area to carry out patrol inspection in the rain according to the requirements of flood control guarantee. After finishing the work, Luo Songbai took the flood control tools and led Yang Shirui to the scene.
The route they inspected was located in the mountain area of Jiujing Quzhou railway, and there were many accidents in flood season. It's raining harder and harder. I can hardly see the road clearly. Luo Songbai walked in front of him, carefully checking the line condition with a flashlight, uploading the rain photos to Duan flood control office through the positioning mobile phone, and constantly reminded the workers to pay attention to safety. Before long, the rain came from the collar of the raincoat, and the boots were filled with water. Their steps are more difficult.
In the afternoon, Luo Songbai inspected the north end line of the work area. After confirming the safety of the line, he checked the south end line at night. At 20:10, the inspection of the north-south line was completed, but he did not go back to rest. Seeing the torrential rain, there was no sign of stopping. He knew in his heart that the flood warning had not been lifted. If he went back now, the team would have to rearrange personnel to come over for inspection, which would not only waste time, but also increase the labor intensity of the workers. Therefore, Luo Songbai volunteered to stay in his place and continue to patrol after waiting for orders.
It's getting dark and it's raining harder and harder. After the inspection order was issued, Luo Songbai led the staff to start the inspection again. It was 12 kilometers from Wuyuan to Fu Village, and they went back and forth four times. Luo Songbai is most worried about the north end line of Meishan No.1 Tunnel. The high mountains and steep slopes on both sides of the line may lead to debris flow due to long-term rainstorm scouring. They went back and forth seven times in this special area.
When they found the south end of Meishan No.2 tunnel, they found that a large group of vines wrapped around the branches and blocked the outlet of the drainage ditch, resulting in poor drainage. Juniperus rosenbergii immediately jumped into the ditch more than 1 meter deep, quickly cut off the vines, and clean up the debris at the bottom of the ditch with a spade. After 30 minutes, the sundries were disposed of and the accumulated water was discharged instantly. The wind and rain on Luo Bai's face again.
After the inspection, torrential rain caused mountain torrents flooded the road back to the work area. They had to wait for the flood to recede in the wild highlands. It was not until 6 o'clock the next day that they returned safely to the work area.
During the rainstorm, 48 kilometers back and forth, and 18 hours of persistence, Luo Songbai used his own practical actions to protect the safety and smooth flow of the main railway.
