On June 30, the opening ceremony of Jining Yuanping high-speed railway via Datong was held in Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province.

Jidayuan high speed railway is located in the north of North China, connecting Wulanchabu city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, passing through Datong City and Shuozhou City in Shanxi Province, connecting Xinzhou City in the south, and connecting Taiyuan City, the capital of Shanxi Province, through Daxi high speed railway. The new line has a total length of 269.6 km and a design speed of 250 km / h, with 8 stations.

Jidayuan high-speed railway is the backbone line of regional comprehensive transportation infrastructure, and is an important part of the main channel of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway in the national "medium and long-term railway network planning". After the opening of the line, the running time of trains from Hohhot to Taiyuan and Datong to Taiyuan will be shortened to 150 minutes and 76 minutes respectively.
