"Iron dragon" and "water dragon" bring benefits to people's livelihood

On June 29, along the Jinsha River, the demolition and recycling of equipment on some lines of Chengdu Kunming railway was in full swing. The good news that the first batch of units of Wudongde Hydropower Station, the seventh largest hydropower station in the world and the fourth largest in China, was put into operation, which brought strong motivation and morale to the staff who are working under high temperature.

Wudongde Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province and Huidong County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. With the gradual progress of Wudongde Hydropower Station construction, Hongjiang, dawanzi, Shizhuang and Xinjiang stations in Yuanmou Panzhihua section of Chengdu Kunming railway will be inundated by water storage of the power station, and all passenger and freight trains in this section will be operated by the new Chengdu Kunming line.

In order to ensure that the construction of Wudongde Hydropower Station meets the water storage standard on schedule, since May, the railway from huapengzi to cucumber park on Chengdu Kunming railway has been shut down, and all equipment has been dismantled and recycled.

China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. attaches great importance to equipment demolition, studies and analyzes construction links and safety risk management in advance, establishes a leading group for reservoir area cleaning project, allocates 382 business backbones, 61 rail cars and 1 long rail car, sets up 4 professional groups of public works, power supply, communication and material disposal, reverses equipment removal plan, and steadily advances railway related areas Up to now, a total of 64 km of rail, 71 km of Catenary line and 4 stations of signal equipment have been demolished. It is expected to complete the removal of all equipment in railway related sections before July 8. On this basis, Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. leveled and repaired the railway sections, recycled and cleaned the waste and sundries in the living area and office area to ensure the normal water storage of Wudongde Hydropower Station.

Compared with the old Chengdu Kunming railway, Yuanmou Panzhihua section of the newly-built Chengdu Kunming railway has shorter running distance, faster speed, better station waiting environment, and greatly improved passenger and freight transportation capacity. At present, three pairs of Fuxing trains are running between Kunming and Panzhihua, and the running time is shortened from 5 hours to about 2 hours. The newly built Yongren station opened freight business in May, further promoting the circulation of goods in Sichuan and Yunnan.

Since May 25, the original 61626161 "small slow trains" running between Kunming and Panzhihua have been adjusted to Kunming Yuanmou section, and the train number has been changed to 74667465. It will continue to serve the villagers in areas with poor transportation such as Dianxin, Heijing, ananzhuang and YANGJIU River along the line, and help them get rid of poverty precisely.
