1. What is the compensation standard for the loss of luggage and parcel transportation?
In case of any loss of ordinary baggage or parcel during transportation, if the shipper handles the transportation according to the insured price, it shall be compensated according to the actual loss (part of the loss shall be compensated according to the proportion of the lost part) within the declared price range; if the shipper does not choose the insured transportation, it shall be compensated according to the actual loss, but the maximum package weight shall not exceed 15 yuan per kilogram.
2. How to claim compensation in case of luggage or parcel accident?
In case of luggage and parcel accident, please handle it at the arrival station generally, and in case of special circumstances, it can also be handled by the departure station.
When the consignee claims compensation, please put forward and attach the following text materials within the specified time limit:
(1) Baggage or parcel tickets;
(2) Baggage and parcel accident records;
(3) Evidence of the contents and price of the article.
3. In case of passenger injury or luggage and parcel accident, within what time limit shall compensation be made?
The period of validity of the carrier and the passenger, the shipper and the consignee for claims arising from contract disputes or claims for refund and compensation between them is one year. The validity period shall be calculated from the following dates:
(1) In case of physical damage and loss of personal belongings, the next day of the accident;
(2) The next day when all the baggage and parcel are lost is the day when they arrive at the end of the period; the next day when part of the baggage and parcel are lost is the day when they are delivered;
(3) In case of any loss to the railway, the next day of the accident;
(4) In case of over or under collection of transportation expenses, it is the next day after verification of such expenses.
4. What causes does the railway not take responsibility for the loss of luggage and parcels?
(1) Force majeure;
(2) The natural property or reasonable loss of the article itself;
(3) If the packaging method or container is not good, it cannot be found or there is no specified safety sign through external observation;
(4) Package escorted by the shipper (except for railway liability);
(5) The shipper or consignee violates the railway regulations or other fault of its own.
