Shantou Haojiang section of Shantou Shantou railway starts construction

Yesterday, Haojiang District of Shantou City held the launching ceremony of Shantou Shantou railway (Haojiang section). After the completion and opening of the railway, it will be integrated with Guangzhou Shantou railway, Jiangxi Shenzhen railway and the soon to be built Shantou Zhangzhou railway, and become an important channel for the close connection between the eastern region of Guangdong and the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Shantou Shantou railway starts from Shantou station of Guangmei Shantou railway in the East and ends at Shanwei station of Guangshan Railway (Xiamen Shenzhen railway) in the West. It passes through Shantou City, Jieyang City and Shanwei City. The designed running speed is 350 km / h and the total length of the main line is 162.8 km. There are 5 stations in Shantou, Chaonan, Huilai, Lufeng East and Shanwei, with a total investment of 26.4 billion yuan. The construction period is 4 years.
