From Datong to Xi'an to realize direct EMU

On December 30, 2019, with the operation of Datong south station and the opening of Zhangjiakou Datong high-speed railway, Datong Xi'an entered the era of EMU direct from the past without direct train. In the northern part of Shanxi Province, two major passenger transport channels have been opened to the East and south. With the support of Zhang Da high speed railway, Daxi high speed railway, Shijiazhuang Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Railway and Hanyuan railway, Shanxi has built a passenger transport channel that runs through the north and south, connects Beijing and Hebei, and connects the whole country.

In 2019, China Railway Taiyuan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. joined hands with relevant government departments to upgrade the existing railway facilities and equipment in Korea. At the same time of high standard and high quality promotion of Datong south railway station operation and operation preparation for the opening of Zhangda high speed railway, the group company of the bureau successfully completed the construction task of connecting line between Hanyuan railway and Zhangda high speed railway, and realized the direct connection of Datong to Xi'an EMU.

The railway department has operated d2581 / 2582 and D2583 / 2584 trains between Datong and Xi'an, with only one-way operation time of more than 6 hours. The train running time between Datong, the second largest city in Shanxi Province, and Taiyuan, the provincial capital, has been reduced from about 5 hours to about 2 hours. Datong to Xi'an line to achieve direct EMU, will play a positive role in accelerating economic and cultural exchanges between regions in Shanxi Province, Shanxi and Shaanxi, as well as all over the country.
