2019-12-20| Pandatrips | News

Dunhuang, which has a history of more than 2000 years, has experienced the baptism of Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty and rain. It has a splendid culture and many historic sites. In 1986, it was named "famous historical and cultural city of China" by the state. However, such a treasure house of world culture, because it is located in a complex area, has not been connected with trains, only relying on decades of road transport and weak air transport capacity, far from meeting the growing demand for transportation along the line, greatly restricting the social and economic development and trade exchanges of local and surrounding cities.

Dunhuang railway, from Liugou station of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway, passes through Dunhuang, Aksai and Subei, passes through Qilian Mountains and enters Qinghai Province. Along Mahai and Dachaidan, it is introduced into yinmaxia station of Qinghai Tibet railway, with a total length of 509km. It is a class I electrified single track railway of China Railway with single track internal combustion motor traction and a maximum speed of 120km / h. Dunhuang railway is also the first section of the planned connecting line between Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway and Qinghai Tibet railway, which plays a very important role and task.

with the arrival of train 7528 of "train tour around the West - mengke glacier Subei", it marks the first passenger train to enter the Subei station of dunge railway surrounded by the vast Gobi, thus ending the history of non passenger trains in Subei County, the northwest of Gansu Province. The time of train has come that people of all nationalities in Subei Mongolian Autonomous County are looking forward to.

the author believes that the opening of Dunhuang railway is of milestone significance, which will further improve the layout of the road network in the West. It is of great significance to release the transportation capacity of Qinghai Tibet railway, promote the construction of the "belt and road" and promote the foreign economic and cultural exchanges and trade development in the northwest. The opening of the

Dunhuang railway has created safe and convenient travel conditions for the people along the northwest region, provided a rare historical opportunity for the in-depth implementation of the strategy of "rejuvenating the county through tourism", and will surely be recorded in the historical records. It is of great significance to improve the sense of pride and belonging of the people of all ethnic groups and all walks of life in Northwest China.

it is reported that there are 14 national scenic spots along the Dunhuang railway, known as the "New Silk Road in the desert". There are not only historical and cultural sites such as Mogao Grottoes, Suoyang city and the great wall of the Han Dynasty, but also natural scenery represented by the National Geological Park Yadan landform and transparent mengke glacier. It is a tourist attraction gathering place of the ancient Silk Road 。
