2019-12-20| Pandatrips | News

At 11:18 on December 18, with the opening of the Dunhuang railway from Subei to Mahai, and the formation of the first ring railway network in Northwest China, the Lanzhou qinghai railway, the Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway and the Qinghai Tibet Railway added a "new engine" to the economic and social development of Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet provinces and the poverty alleviation along the line. (December 19, China News Network)

Dunhuang railway, located in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province and Jiuquan City of Gansu Province, has a total length of 671g. It is a class I electrified single track railway of national railway, with double track conditions reserved. The design speed of the line is 120km / h, traction quality is 4000t, and the long-term transportation capacity will reach 36000000 tons per year.

as we all know, most of the railway transportation in the northwest is circuitous. One trip is a very long train journey. The opening of Dunhuang railway links Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai and Tibet. Since then, the first circular railway network has been established in the northwest region, which has completely changed the history of railway transportation detour between Xinjiang, Tibet and even Central Asian countries. The transportation distance between Xinjiang and Tibet will be shortened by 1100 kilometers, saving nearly 10 hours, greatly facilitating people's travel along the line.

is not only beautiful in scenery, but also rich in resources. This new line is known as the "New Silk Road in the desert". In the areas along the line, there are 14 national scenic spots, dotted with scenic spots and historic sites. It is a tourist attraction gathering place of the ancient Silk Road. These places are beautiful scenic spots that many people yearn for but stop to. The reason is that the traffic conditions in the desert are limited and the travel is restricted. Now, the opening of the Dunhuang railway, connecting these scenic spots and historic sites, will effectively promote the economic and cultural development of the relevant areas, and open the door for the world to enter these ancient traces. In addition to the strong driving force of tourism, the Tarim basin along the Dunhuang railway has abundant resources that can not be ignored. After the exploitation of salt, boron, potassium, coal, oil and other resources, with the strong driving force of Dunhuang railway transportation, the local mining industry will be greatly developed.

the ancients said, "why do Qiang flutes complain about willows? The spring breeze doesn't pass the Yumen pass." It can be seen that northwest China has been a bleak place with inconvenient transportation since ancient times. However, under the construction of railway from generation to generation, those desolate places described by the ancients have become a tourist and resource exploitation holy land with abundant resources. Dunhuang railway has effectively promoted the development of "one belt and one Road" and become a new engine for poverty alleviation in the areas along the line! (Wen Ziyuan)
