The first train of Southwest Ring Line of Taiyuan railway hub

At about 8:20 on December 11, with a whistle, 55031 freight trains slowly drove out of the Queen's Garden Station in Taiyuan and onto the newly built Southwest Ring Road, announcing the official opening of the Southwest Ring Road. This southwest ring line, which connects several small stations, will be connected with the original lines of Taiyuan north station, Taiyuan east station, Taiyuan station, Taiyuan South Station, etc., forming Taiyuan ring railway, greatly easing the increasingly tense situation of transportation channel of Taiyuan railway hub. southwest ring line starts from Fenhe station of Taiyuan Xingxian railway in the north and flows into Zhongding Logistics Park Station of Taiyuan Zhongwei railway through the southwest of Taiyuan city. It is an important channel to relieve the tension of Taiyuan railway hub and realize the passenger and freight diversion caused by the successive opening of Taiyuan Zhongxin Railway, Shijiazhuang Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line and Daxi high speed railway. The railway line

passes through Jiancaoping District, Wanbailin District, Jinyuan District, Xiaodian District, Yuci district and economic development zone of Jinzhong City. Jinyuan, xicaozhai and beige stations are newly built along the line, and the existing Fenhe, sanjiangcun, Taiyuan West and Zhongding Logistics Park stations are reconstructed. The main line is 55.51km long, which is a class I double track electrified railway of national railway and a cross regional seamless line.

There are 9 super bridges, 11 bridges and 8 medium bridges including chaicun, Yezhuang and Taichang expressway. There are 3 tunnels in Jinci, Dongjin and chaicun, including 2 long tunnels with a total length of more than 20 kilometers. Jinyuan semi underground station is designed to cross the downtown area of Taiyuan. In addition, the "earth pressure balance shield tunneling method of large diameter railway tunnel" adopted in the construction of this line has been popularized in the whole road by the engineering management center of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., which has accumulated valuable experience for railway engineering construction. Taiyuan railway hub is the intersection center of the horizontal and vertical railways in Shanxi Province, connecting inner Mongolia, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi and other places, and is an important hub of passenger and freight transportation in North China. After the opening and operation of the Southwest Ring Road, it will form a circular hub together with the existing channels, solve the safety risks of the current mixed running of passenger and freight in the channel, alleviate the limited exchange of North and south traffic and the current situation of capacity tension, which is of great significance for the smooth hub and the optimization of passenger train operation.
