Geku railway promotes the development of western region

According to the official of Golmud City, Qinghai Province, with the successful operation of Linglin line I of Golmud Korla electrified railway, it indicates that the power supply project of Golmud Korla electrified railway (Huatugou area) has been put into operation. in order to ensure that the first line of the 110 kV external power supply project of geku electric railway in Qinghai Province is successfully electrified, professionals of Haixi power supply company are carrying out relevant commissioning preparations at the construction site of Huatugou Youshashan section, marking that the Qinghai section of geku railway has entered the final stage of opening to traffic. The whole railway is expected to be open to traffic in 2020. After its completion, the 26 hours from Golmud to Korla by bus will be shortened to about 12 hours by train.

Golmud Korla railway is 1213.7km, including 505.6km in Qinghai and 708.1km in Xinjiang. Geku railway passes through wutumieren, Huatugou, Ruoqiang, Yuli and other places along the way, and it needs to cross the Altun mountain with the highest altitude of 6161 meters. The construction of
