"Rainbow" of China Laos Railway: olive dam Lancang River bridge closure

In the early morning of October 18, Lancang River Bridge on olive dam of China Laos railway, located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the completion of the whole line on schedule.
Lancangjiang bridge of olive dam is a continuous rigid frame bridge of arch reinforced prestressed concrete, with a total length of 495.65m, including a main span of 200m. The concrete consumption of the whole bridge is about 40000 cubic meters, and the steel consumption is nearly 6000 tons. The closure section of the concrete main beam adopts the construction technology of combination of hanging basket and rigid support frame, and high-performance concrete is poured in the low temperature period at night to ensure the construction quality and construction safety of the beam body. The closure of the main girder of the bridge provides a working surface for the installation of the upper stiffening steel pipe arch. The closure of the upper stiffening steel pipe arch is expected to be installed before the end of February 2020, and the whole bridge is planned to be completed in May 2020.
After the completion of the Lancang River Bridge of olive dam, it will form a local sightseeing bridge together with Jinghong Lancang River Bridge, a "brother bridge" 29 kilometers away.
The China Laos railway starts from Kunming, China in the north and ends in Vientiane, the capital of Laos in the south. It is the first international railway invested and constructed mainly by China after the belt and road initiative is put forward. The whole line adopts Chinese technical standards and uses Chinese equipment. The whole line was started in December 2016. After the opening and operation of the railway, it only takes about 3 hours from Kunming to Jinghong, and it is expected to arrive in Vientiane, Laos in the evening.
