The new passenger station transformed in 1995 is magnificent and magnificent. It has become a beautiful scenery of Jinan. Station is a passenger-oriented, passenger, cargo and transport integrated special station, with an average of 57 passenger trains and 38 cargo trains per day, 17 passenger trains at departure and arrival, 43.5 passenger trains across the bureau, 38,000 passengers per day, nearly 3,600 tons of cargo, more than 300 bags handled, and the station insists on "safety, fast" The service aim of "quick and efficient" and the service concept of "honest railway" provide high-quality service for travelers and cargo carriers. It is a civilized "window" unit in Shandong Province and Jinan City.
. In March 1992, the municipal government headed by Zhai Yongfan, the mayor, finally decided to dismantle the old railway station, which was officially dismantled at 8:5 on July 1, 1992. At that time, the whole country's academia was full of abuse, denouncing the authorities as "uncultured". It is now a first class station.
The old Jinan Railway Station was designed by Hermann Fischer, a German architect. It was built in 1908 and put into use in 1912. This is a group of Gothic buildings with strong Baroque style. Architects organize space according to the use of functions, with clear priorities: image fluctuations, scattered. Even compared with the old Beijing Qianmen Railway Station or Shanghai Railway Station in the past, the old Jinan Railway Station has a slightly better appearance. The south elevation of the station is on the front, and the entrance is paved with broad stone steps, forming a symmetrical and coordinated style with the forceful colonnade in front of the gate, which conveys a kind of solid and stable good feeling to the travelers. After entering the entrance, it is a waiting hall (later changed to a ticket office), square in plane, with a vault about 13 meters high and a roof covered with double sloping tiles. The north and south walls are inlaid with large arched high windows and stained glass. To the east of the waiting hall stands a low green dome, which was the ticket office of the year. The west of the railway station is a row of three-storey auxiliary rooms (including the roof floor). The gentle curved lines of the attic Gables fluctuate continuously. They echo each other with the dome and arch windows of the waiting hall and emit a steady and smooth atmosphere as a whole. The most striking facade is a 32-meter-high cylindrical bell tower between the waiting hall and auxiliary rooms, which is the composition center of the old Jinan railway station. It can be called the highlight of all the design: if the old Jinan railway station is an island in the vast sea of people in the world, then the solid and high bell tower will be. Like a lighthouse guiding a leaf boat.
Jinan Railway Station was once the only Gothic railway station in the world and the largest railway station in Asia. It occupied a high position in the history of international architecture.
. In 1992, Xie Yutang, Vice Mayor of the People's Republic of China, appraised it as "a reminder of the history of the oppression of the Chinese people, the towering green dome" ("dome"). Like the Helmets of Hitler's Army, they were ordered to be dismantled. The demolition of the building was strongly opposed by the public and scholars. The German side asked for the clock to be recycled, but it failed. In June 2008, Dazhong was found in a warehouse of Jinan Railway Administration. At the same time, the demolition included the Japanese gendarmerie headquarters, the German Telegraph Building, Ruiji Xiangdian and even Wanzhuyuan Qianyuan, which had been used as a symbol of colonization.
